Curv on the Ground... At Gen Hope 🌍

Take a look back with us at NHM's Gen Hope! 🦖

For the second year in a row, Team Curv spent a hopeful few days delving into the Natural History Museum’s Generation Hope Programme.

Their goal? To foster a community of ambassadors for the planet, which is obviously why they started a movement on Curv 😉 🌍

Ellie’s Big Takeaway…

The Climate Change 101 talk was an emotional, inspiring, and hopeful session focusing on resilience, climate justice, and connection. On the panel was the wonderful, Larrissa Pinto Moraes, who heads up Engajamundo, a Brazil-based youth-driven NGO fighting for climate justice 🇧🇷

“Engajamundo is a youth network that believes that if we change ourselves, our surroundings and engage politically, we can transform our realities.”

Larrissa, really got me thinking when she said, “It's not about the big moves. It's about the collective steps.” ⭐

At Curv, we often talk about collective action - we can all play a role in this story. Make art. Write poetry. It's like each of us adding our drop to the ocean, slowly but surely creating waves of change. 🌊

Emma’s Big Takeaway…

"Hope is not some delicate, beautiful bird, Emily. It's a lowly sewer rat" - Caitlin Seida

We came together to share stories on a planetary emergency and as I left, the poem above ran through my head. Everyone mentioned the struggle in adversity and anxiety from the climate crisis but quickly followed up with the power and comfort found in community.

Hope isn't a beautiful thing, its the heart that's always beating in the background and sometimes we need to listen extra hard to find it, but it's always there. Find your communities and your people in the face of the climate crisis and climate anxiety - that's where the power for sustainable action lines. In your own journey and your own communities to find hope.

So now it’s your turn.

Join the Generation Hope Movement on Curv and share what gives you Hope! 🌍
